It’s a new day today
Today marks the end of the Trump administration and the beginning of the Biden administration. I hope that it also marks the return to an America ruled by the principles of trying to do the right thing, for the right reasons. For the global good. For the pursuit of equity. For recognition of inequality and assistance for those less fortunate. For climate change. I feel hopeful about our government for the first time in 4+ years. May the universe help them create a safe world for Lucie to grow up in.

An unwelcome Donnelly tradition
I accidentally took the skin of very tip of my left index finger off while peeling potatoes the other day. Paddy sliced a big ol’ hunk off the top of his pinkie a month or so ago using our new fancy mandoline. Paddy is pretty much whole again, and my finger is healing nicely too. All was fine until I sat down to do work this morning and realized I haven’t typed since then. No problem — I don’t use the R, T, G, C keys that often (◎_◎) . I texted this to Carm this morning and this was her response.

The first letter…
As we’ve been working on for a couple of years now, you know that the first letter is A. You also know all the other letters of the alphabet, are reading some words, doing some basic “equations” with Pop-Pop, and all kinds of other magical amazing things that blow me away on a daily basis. This last year, 2020, was difficult for lots of reasons. And processing last year and all my years is (in part) the impetus for starting this blog to you.
